Steward Supports - CUPE Local 5167

PLEASE ENSURE A COPY OF YOUR NOTES AND ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION FOR ALL MEMBER MEETINGS ARE SENT TO THE UNION. Do not keep a copy.

You can email them to print@cupe5167.org , please cc your unit vice president.

You can also drop them off to the union hall.

If you email them, please shred the originals or drop them off for shredding.

Prior to being confirmed as an active Steward, the member must complete 5167 Steward Training. (5167 Steward Training will be prescheduled by the Chief Steward once per month based on need). The costs will be covered under the defense fund.
Stewards shall attend no less than 3 monthly Stewards meetings or 3 Learning Series Modules each calendar year (unless excused due to a good and sufficient cause).
A Steward can attend one (1) general membership meeting to count towards their obligation in each year of the Steward term (July to June each year). It is the responsibility of the Steward to confirm their attendance by email to the Chief Steward for it to be recorded.
In the event of unit job action (not able to strike), strike preparation and/or potential strike; all Stewards will automatically be appointed to the Unit Strike Team and act as Picket Captains.

The new stewardship term is July 2026 to June 2027.

Please note Steward obligation as per our bylaws will be assessed in June 2027 and June 2028.
