Steward Supports

The Location Steward shall act as the Union’s representative at the workplace and shall ensure that member issues are dealt with and grievances are filed if the employer fails to comply with the terms of the Collective Agreement.

PLEASE ENSURE A COPY OF  YOUR NOTES AND ALL SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION FOR ALL MEMBER MEETINGS ARE SENT TO THE UNION.

Steward Policy Revised Approved by GMM November 2019

Stewards shall attend no less than 3 monthly Stewards meetings or 3 Learning Series Modules each calendar year (unless excused due to a good and sufficient cause).

Within 12 months of a Steward’s first term (July to June of even years) all Stewards are required to complete the Introduction to Steward training.

Stewards Meetings are generally the first Tuesday of the month:

  • 5:30 pm
