Social Committee Food Drive

Food insecurity is not having enough money to buy food.

More and more people are relying on food banks as the costs of living have risen, housing is no longer affordable, and wages and benefit programs have not kept pace.

In 2024 in Hamilton, more than one in four households (29.4%) lived with food insecurity.

Monetary donations are welcome.

ATTENTION LODGE MEMBERS ONLY – SCHEDULING MATTERS

SCHEDULING MATTERS

To ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently for our members, the employer and residents, it’s important that the union address any scheduling issues as soon as they arise.

The union only knows what our members advise us of what is happening.

Whether it’s a conflict with your assigned shifts, unexpected availability changes, or any other concerns related to scheduling, your timely communication is key to resolving these matters quickly and minimizing disruptions.

If you encounter a scheduling issue, please follow these steps:

  1. Notify your supervisor as soon as possible in writing (email) and please cc lodgesvp@cupe5167.org

2. Please email all scheduling issues to schedule@cupe5167.org separately

     3. Provide clear details about the issue, including dates, times, and any relevant context

Your cooperation in this process helps us to support members like yourself, as well the union will be prepared to address scheduling issues at Labour Management and Bargaining.

If you have any questions or need further clarification, don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for your attention to this matter, and for your continued commitment to keeping our union strong and informed!!

In solidarity,

Andrew Swayze, Lodges Vice President

Deann Smith, Vice President

Jodi Coville, Executive Administrator

Barb Carter, National Representative
